The Quai des Jacobins and Quai Tourcaudière provide an ideal vantage point from which to view the old tanners' dwellings
The center of Castres has a certain charm all of its own, and its quays are the most pleasant place to stroll. As you stroll past the houses on the Agout and the monuments that make up the town's heritage, the waterway divides the town in two, providing a soothing backdrop. The Quai des Jacobins and Quai Tourcaudière provide an ideal vantage point from which to view the former dwellings of the tanners and dyers, as well as the former production sites for draperies and cotton fabrics. Crossing the Pont de Metz offers an enfilade view of the quays of the river Agout.
