Typical Southern Gothic church in Cordes-sur-Ciel, with the largest and finest rose window in the Albigeois region
Built in several phases between the 13th and 15th centuries, Saint-Michel church is typical of the Southern Gothic style. Built of ochre, mauve and grey sandstone and schist stone, it boasts the largest and finest rose window in the Albigeois region. A beautiful 16th-century Virgin and Child is also on display in the treasure chest. As a result, the building has been listed as a Monument Historique since 1922. Managed by volunteers, visits require prior contact.
