Magnificent bastide in Cordes-sur-Ciel, composed of an open-air museum that welcomes many artists and craftsmen
If you had to visit only one bastide it would be this one! Elected Preferred Village of the French in 2014, this magnificent bastide deserves at least two hours of visit. The city of Cordes sur Ciel was created in 1222. Admire the sculpted facades, which make up an open-air museum, of the Maison du Grand Fauconnier, the Maison du Grand Veneur, or the Maison du Grand Écuyer. To visit: the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the Museum of Sugar Art (works by the pastry chefs of the Thuriès school), the Charles Portal Museum (which retraces the history of Cordes sur Ciel and its surroundings) and the Garden of Paradise. Numerous artists and craftsmen.
