EMBROIDERY MUSEUM
Museum housing decorations from clothing to army insignia
A town of craftsmen, Cordes was a center of embroidery at its peak from 1880 to 1930. Built in 1881, the La Gaudane building, formerly a factory, housed 26 embroidery looms. From clothing decorations to army insignia, many items were embroidered in the town, including the famous crocodile on Lacoste clothing. This private embroidery museum was created by Jacques Roquefere. Here you'll have the pleasure of discovering beautiful pieces and old documentation. Today, the factory also houses some very attractive apartments where you can stay.
