SAINT-BENOIT D'EN CALCAT ABBEY
Abbey with hotel and a bookshop publishing remarkable religious works in Dourgne.
The monastery of Saint-Benoît d'En Calcat was founded in 1890, at the same time as the Sainte-Scholastique de Dourgne, by Louis Banquet - a native of the hamlet of En Calcat - and Marie Cronier, who received divine revelation of a work to which the Lord was calling them both: "a spiritual ark which will be His own dwelling place, where souls will live from Him, where He will be the Beloved". The two monasteries were recognized as an abbey in 1896, and the community continued to grow. The abbey is not open to the public, but visitors are welcome in the guesthouses. The Siloë bookshop, based at the abbey, publishes many outstanding religious works.
