Built in the 17th century on a plan inspired by the Villa d'Este, the Château de Foucaud houses the Museum of Fine Arts. The 4-hectare park is freely accessible and blends Italian and French styles, with perspectives, terraces, fountains, an orangery and a cool pavilion. It is one of the largest 18th century gardens in the South of France and one of the few to have retained its original layout. It remains one of the most beautiful sites in the city, with its rose garden.

I passed at the park many times with my grandfather, and visited the park many years after he’s gone. The park nowadays look very different than I remember it: little, poorly maintained, and dirty. This park use to be Gaillac’s proud! What happened?

Magnifique parc du château de Foucaud à Gaillac, belles balades, fontaines, tables de pique-nique, allées verdoyantes, un régal pour les yeux, se balader et se caler
