The Giroussens ceramics center is the fruit of a project led by 2 local associations, Terre et terres and Arts et poteries, in consultation with the commune's town hall. It has been under the responsibility of the Gaillac-Graulhet agglomeration community since 2017, and managed by an association made up of ceramists and enthusiasts, Giroussens céramique. This space enables the curious to discover ceramics from a new angle and via unusual creations. Its vast exhibition spaces welcome a variety of artists throughout the year, and there are generally four exhibitions a year. On-site, a store dedicated to ceramics enables visitors to acquire a unique souvenir. A bookshop and 2 permanent spaces dedicated to Giroussens antique ceramics and the artist Lucie Bouniol complete the premises. A French sculptor, painter and draughtswoman, Lucie Bouniol has left her mark on the world of artistic creation through her public works, notably her sculptures for three war memorials (including one in the Lot department). Since 2000, the artist's studio collection has been permanently housed at the Maison de la Céramique Contemporaine in Giroussens. She was also president of the artistic section of the Club International Féminine, and organized numerous exhibitions at the Musée d'Art Moderne in Paris: sculptures, tapestries and other works by women! She was also widely exhibited internationally.
