SAINT-NICOLAS CHURCH
Saint-Nicolas and Sainte-Foy churches, one listed and the other classified as a historical monument
Arriving from Villeneuve-sur-Lot, the steeple of the beautiful Saint-Nicolas church is the first thing you see in Pujols. This Gothic edifice dominates the square of the same name. Its construction, begun in the 16th century, is based on an existing castral chapel. Integrated into the ramparts, the bell tower is built over one of the village gates. The nave, with its polygonal apse, contains two chapels: one for the lords of Pujols, the other for the dean of the chapter. A crypt was discovered in 1880 beneath the choir.
