SAINT-NICOLAS CHURCH
Saint-Nicolas and Sainte-Foy churches, one listed and the other classified as a historical monument
Arriving from Villeneuve-sur-Lot, the steeple of Saint-Nicolas church is usually the first thing you see of Pujols. The Gothic-style edifice dominates the square of the same name. It was built in the 16th century on the site of an existing castral chapel. Integrated into the ramparts, its bell tower was built over one of the village gates. The nave, ending in a polygonal apse, has 2 chapels. One was reserved for the lords of Pujols, the other for the dean of the chapter. A crypt was discovered in 1880 beneath the choir.
