INSTITUT CHARLES DARWIN INTERNATIONAL
It is a center for research, publishing and documentation on the theory of evolution. Created by Patrick Tort, scientific director at the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle in Paris, who undertook the French translation of Darwin's complete works, it is aimed primarily at students and anyone interested in the work of the great British scientist. Why such an institute in Puycelci? Quite simply because Patrick Tort fell in love with the town and moved there with his 8,000 research and reference books. Visitors will find Patrick Tort's Dictionnaire du Darwinisme and his latest publications (Darwin et la Religion, Darwin n'est pas celui que l'on croit and many others), which provide an even deeper insight into the thought and work of the founding father of the theory of evolution. A word of advice: even if you're not a scientist, take a tour of this institute, which also boasts a superb interior design.
