NOTRE-DAME-DE-GRACE CHAPEL
Modest chapel of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce of Rabastens, weakened and saved thanks to the intervention of a neighboring family during the Revolution
This modest chapel preserves the barely perceptible memory of a mass celebrated in 1600 by Vincent de Paul, who was still only a young priest. During the Revolution, the chapel was weakened, but it was saved thanks to the intervention of a neighbouring family. In 1825, the cult of Saint Vincent (canonized in 1737) was inaugurated in the chapel. In 1842, a mobilization allows to repair the monument and to enlarge it by adding two chapels dedicated to the great saint.
