THE SUSPENSION BRIDGE
A suspension bridge dating from 1847, located in Saint-Sulpice, linking the communes of Rabastens, Couffouleux and Saint-Sulpice.
Begun in 1847, this structure links the communes of Rabastens, Couffouleux and Saint-Sulpice. The bridge was built by the nobles of these three communes, who established a toll system in compensation. This explains the presence of a toll house at each end of the bridge. Initially built of wood, it failed to withstand the Agout flood of March 1930. It was rebuilt the following year in metal and concrete. The latest renovations were completed in 2000. A pretty light illuminates it at night.
