A museum recounting the history of tapestry, an opportunity to discover the talent and originality of Dom Robert.

Opened in 2015 in the abbey-school of Sorèze, this museum tells the story of 20th century tapestry. It mainly pays tribute to a great name of Aubusson tapestry, Dom Robert, a Benedictine monk and tapestry cartonnier. At each step, we discover his talent and the originality of his works, centered on the naked nature and the color. Among the other 20th century artists represented, we find Lurcat and Gromaire, Prassinos, Théo Kerg, Lagrange and Sicard.

Magnifique cité. Nous avons été voir le musée qui exposait les tapisseries de Dom Robert : moi qui n'aime pas les musées, celui-ci m'a bien plu. Les tapisseries sont magnifiques et très bien exposées. L'accueil du musée est fait par une dame très aimable et souriante. Nous avons payé 8€ car nous étions sénior sinon, c'est un euro de plus si mes souvenirs sont bons.

Un lieu remarquable ... les œuvres de Dom Robert (dessins et tapisseries) sont exposées dans un écrin qui les met superbement en valeur... c'est très beau, très original, très inspirant. Vous vous souviendrez longtemps de cette visite .

Très beau village à visiter si vous aimez les belles pierres. De plus, son ancienne abbaye-école vaut vraiment le détour (la salle des Illustres est magnifique), tout comme le musée Dom Robert où l'on peut admirer les tapisseries de cet artiste-moine.
