CHEZ PIGASSOU
Restaurant with terrace elaborating a tasty traditional cuisine with fresh and local products.
With its stone walls, its interior courtyard and its terrace, this authentic restaurant is ideal to spend a pleasant moment. The traditional cuisine is made from fresh and local products and the dishes change according to the season. In summer, you can enjoy large salads, stuffed vegetables, peach and raspberry salads... In winter, the soups are "like in the old days", the dishes are simmered and enjoyed in front of a wood stove. It is possible to shop in the delicatessen where 80% of the products are local.

What a delightful find in a town of only 600 people. It must be that the visitors to Bruniquel Castle provide enough customers to keep Chez Pigassou in business. I first came across the restaurant when researching Google for more details on Bruniquel Castle and the Bruniquel caves, where there is possible evidence of occupation 175,600 years ago, long before Homo Sapiens settled in the area. But enough of archeology, let's talk about Chez Pigassou. We arrived from visiting the castle a little later than normal lunch hour so they were able to accommodate us in a delightful upstairs room full of antiques (for sale) and paintings of birds and flowers. Fortunately the hostess spoke English and we were able to communicate well. My sister in law is vegetarian but eats goat cheese and they accommodated her with a delightful salad of fruits, vegetables and goat cheese, my wife had the same and I had a charcuterie and cheese board with a side of fries. All were delicious. The service was excellent, the ambience was delightful and our seating was comfortable. One of the better meals I've had in SW France.
