A privileged place to live in Lauzerte, lined with arched arcades in basket handle
Even if with time the economic activity has moved further down to the suburbs, the Place des Cornières (in the heart of the original bastide, at the top of the town) remains a privileged place to live, especially in summer. In addition to the corner house that gives it the name "Cornière", it is lined with basket-handle arches on three of its sides and with houses from the 15th to the 18th century. What the tourist notices is the edge of the square with sandstone paving stones that rises on a corner, a surrealist fantasy yet in harmony with the whole.
