Moissac, Grand Site d'Occitanie, is part of an epicurean landscape dominated by orchards and AOP Chasselas grapevines. A stopover on the roads to Santiago de Compostela, it is also a major centre of Romanesque art in France. Its mayor, Dr. Jean-Michel Henryot, was elected in 2014. The commune covers 86 km² and has 12,765 inhabitants since the last census. Surrounded by the communes of Boudou, Lizac and Les Barthes, Moissac is located 7 km northwest of Castelsarrasin. The commune is close to the Regional Natural Park of the Causses du Quercy.
