An Italian-style theater built around 1740 on the site of a jeu de Paume, with an eclectic program.

This Italian-style theatre was built on the site of a jeu de Paume around 1740, before being enlarged and embellished in 1849 by the architect Fragneau. Thanks to the contribution and help of the city of Paris after the flood of 1930, a new façade was built in 1931 on the edge of the Place Lefranc de Pompignan. Inspired by the Place Nationale, the monumental entrance was enhanced by four bas-reliefs by the sculptor André Abbal. With an eclectic program, this theater contributes to the cultural abundance of the city.

Très bon théâtre dans lequel j’ai pu voir des pièces telles que les fourberies de Scapin et bien d’autres. Les sièges sont confortables et on y est très à l’aise. Je conseille ce théâtre. Il est mieux que l’Eurythmie.

Je suis venue réserver des places et la dame à l'accueil a été très gentille. Elle a pris le temps de me montrer les places dans la salle même pour que je puisse faire mon propre choix.
J'ai trouvé cela très professionnel.
