A street art known for the decried works of graffiti artists, offering festivals, cultural events and guided tours.
Street art, known for the more or less decried works of graffiti artists, has now become legal and is even the subject of public commissions, festivals, cultural events and... guided tours. It gives, in Montauban, the opportunity, in a playful way, to discover the city from a different angle. The achievements of many famous artists such as Invader or Julien de Casabianca have invested the city with mosaics or collages. Graffiti artists also contributed, including Miss Tic. At the corner of Rue du Vieux Poids and Rue des Rondelles, the artist revisited Ingres' famous painting La Baigneuse Valpinçon through a black and white graffiti of the most beautiful effect in the tortuous streets of the city centre. Another very popular black and white graffiti is the one found in Sadi Carnot street, on the wall of the CGR Le Paris cinema. This one represents Charlie Chaplin with a child. Young local artists have taken over the rue Porte du Moustier to paint the facades of abandoned shops. And let's not forget to go and admire the traditional trompe-l'oeil whose objective is to mask unattractive spaces by deceiving the eye. Thus with this representation of Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres at a window at the intersection of the rue d'Ellie and the rue Fourchue. Or the one representing life along the Montech canal with its birds, fishermen and hikers on the front of a house along the road to Lacourt in Montbeton.
