French artist Marika Gysbers, aka MOG, from Pau, has created two remarkable murals in Montauban, using her unique technique called VIVRATION®. This technique combines spray paint with variable LED lighting to create a vibrating effect of color. Here, the artist was inspired by two emblematic female figures. The first mural, #O2G, located opposite the Olympe de Gouges theater (4, place de Pompignan), is a vibrant tribute to the famous Montalban woman, author of the Declaration of the Rights of Women and the Citizen. The location of the work underlines the importance of Olympe de Gouges in the town's heritage. The second fresco, inspired by Jean-Auguste Dominique Ingres' famous painting "La Source", spans an entire building on rue de l'Union Compagnonnique. MOG reinterprets the original work with its vibrant color palette, bringing a new dimension to this iconic female figure. These monumental works are striking examples of how street art can pay tribute to history, culture and women, while bringing a touch of modernity and dynamism to urban space.
