CLOCK TOWER
Belfry of Armentières, 67 m high, classified as world heritage by Unesco, with a magnificent view on the slag heaps.
Classified as a Unesco World Heritage Site since 2005, the belfry of Armentières imposes itself from the Grand'Place of Armentières. The old castle of Armentières, moreover, was used, after destruction, to build it in 1490. Only a few remains, visible inside the hotel, survived the 1914-1918 war, but it was rebuilt in 1934 thanks to the inhabitants. Today, it overlooks the city from the top of its 67 meters and its 200 steps, and offers you a magnificent view of Armentières, the slag heaps and the Flanders mountains on a clear day.
