ST. VAST'S CHURCH
Church of Romanesque-Byzantine style, with a large organ, testifying to the French organ building at the beginning of the neoclassicism.
In an amazing mix of Romanesque-Byzantine and Art Deco styles, the church of Saint-Vaast was built by the architects Louis-Marie and his son Louis-Stanislas Cordonnier in 1932. Once inside, your eyes will surely be drawn to the four evangelists, the altar and the pulpit which were sculpted by a local artist, Camille Debert. The mosaic is present everywhere with unique and original colorful patterns. The great organ of the church of Saint-Vaast is considered one of the most beautiful witnesses of French organ building at the beginning of the neoclassicism.
