LACEMAKING SCHOOL
Lace-making school retracing the history of lace-making, an activity that leaves its mark on Bailleul and its heritage.
The school was founded after the First World War, in a superb neo-Flemish building that can be visited. There are around 150 students taking part in mixed-grade courses. They learn techniques with sometimes unusual names: torchon, Russian, figurative, Lille or Cluny. They also learn both classic stitches and contemporary designs. In June and September, during the European Heritage Days, don't miss the open house with initiations. She also offers bobbin lace.
