SHEEP BELFRY
This belfry is surmounted by a campanile decorated with watchtowers at the corners and whose bulb is decorated with a weathervane in the shape of a lion.
The current belfry, inaugurated in 1961, is in fact the third one built on the same foundations. The very first building dates from the 12th century, the second from the 16th century. Over time, the city reworked the ornamentation and made it one of the jewels of the region. The Germans destroyed it in 1944, it was rebuilt from 1958 to 1961. The 47 m high belfry is topped by a bell tower whose bulb is decorated with a lion-shaped weathervane. Good to know: the former carillonneur's house has been transformed into two furnished apartments for rent!
