TOWN HALL
Town hall of Bergues of Flemish Renaissance style, original building built in blue stone of Soignies and grey of Marquise.
The town hall is perhaps the most original building in the town! While the town is predominantly yellow, the colour of the Bergues brick, the town hall is made entirely of bluish grey... since it was built of blue stone from Soignies and grey from Marquise. In the Flemish Renaissance style, the building also has Egyptian influences! It was decided in the 19th century to move it. Dismantled stone by stone, it was thus placed opposite the belfry, but it lost its Gothic part and today only retains its Flemish part.
