MERCHANDANT DUNE

The nature reserve belongs to the Dunes of Flanders. Created in 1974, it covers 83 hectares. It shelters a varied natural environment, in permanent evolution, which attracts a very diversified fauna. You may be lucky enough to see a few wild rabbits frolicking around! With nearly 400 species, this site is also home to a wide variety of flora, and botanical treasures such as the elyma of the sands or the acrid thorn, which stores water in its branches... It is the only national nature reserve in the department. A path marks out your walk.
