Museum presenting the lace production line and a collection of textiles in the old Carpentier factory.

The museum is located in the old Carpentier factory dating from 1898, a typical building of the industrial architecture of the late nineteenth century. You can discover the secrets of the production line of lace on a Leavers loom and the weaving looms. On the first floor, temporary exhibitions allow you to observe the most beautiful laces woven and embroidered for great personalities... like Kate Middleton's wedding dress!

quel beau musée!
Une découverte fabuleuse de la fabrication de la dentelle:d'abord des documents photographiques,un film,des écrans tactiles puis une démonstration très vivante par un ouvrier brodeur qui explique très bien et répond à toutes les questions des visiteurs.Ensuite visite guidée d'une expo temporaire,cette année c'est en deux périodes et cest superbe:la dentelle pour les costumes de scène avec énormément d'explications d'une jeune guide très compétente,bref un endroit à découvrir absolument.

La dentelle n'est pas le monopôle de Calais! Caudry a vécu une grande histoire avec la dentelle et la célèbre aujourd'hui dans un charmant musée, où sont exposées machines et ouvrages qui retrace avec fierté l'amour de la ville pour se jolie dentelles. Situé sur la place de la ville ce petit musée au tarif très abordable est à visiter absolument;
