Restaurant combining northern and south-western cuisine in Dunkirk.
It's a beautiful story that began in the former brewery of La Villette. Nathalie and Christian Vandenbussche, who ran the Yacht Club restaurant in the marina, have taken over this sign located in an area - it must be said - not very touristy. The establishment is however "inratable", it stands at the corner of the Avenue de la Villette and the Rue du Banc-Vert. When you push the doors, everything has changed! The owners have rethought the whole decoration with great taste and a sense of detail right down to the cutlery. When the plates arrive, one is intrigued by the container before being carried away by the contents. The name La Ripaille is not usurped! Here, everything is generous, the welcome, the plate and the menu lines that make you salivate. The establishment, whose slogan is "Smout (lard in Flemish) in confit", displays a union between the cuisine of the North and the South-West: grandmother's Iberian pork chop, shrimp croquettes, red tuna steak with sesame and citrus fruit juice, salmon steak with chorizo... (Attention, the menu changes every fortnight.) Its logo is a mix between hops and Espelette chilli pepper. The bosses are determined to revitalize the old slaughterhouse district. In winter, the first floor is preferred. If you are just passing through Dunkirk, the establishment is 3 minutes from the A16.
