Restaurant offering classic dishes with good value for money.
Rep' is short for Republic (the place, Place de la République, where this establishment is located), but it could also work with Rep', as a reference... for regulars. It is thus strongly advised to reserve, the establishment counts a small forty seats and gets quickly busy indeed. Even at the beginning of the week! It must be said that the service is fast and the daily specials are very varied! Gratin of andouillette with mustard cream, cod tail with shrimp sauce, fettucine with three peppers and pineapple, thinly sliced beef shank Thai style. These are just a few examples of dishes of the day. There's no à la carte menu, but a slate that gives a nice place to red meat: pavé or beef steak, entrecote, beef cheek, tartare... There are some specialities from the North (potjevleesch, shrimp croquettes) and always a mixed salad and a pasta dish. The desserts are classic but good. Nothing more unpleasant indeed to finish on a wrong note. Good value for money for this establishment which has a few places on the terrace for eating or drinking. But Le Rép' is also (very) well known and renowned for its events on the third Thursday of every month. The afterwork evening attracts a population of thirty year olds and forty years olds who don't want to wait until the weekend to relax!
