In 2014, the new Bateau Feu was inaugurated. The theatre has been completely renovated. Only the walls have been preserved! The old building was wrapped in a transparent or opaque bubble depending on the light. The architectural work that has been done at the Bateau Feu is very interesting. The comfort of the rooms has been improved, the technical rooms and scenographic equipment upgraded. Every year, the Bateau Feu hosts about fifty shows or cultural events, or an average of about a hundred performances. Each year, about ten dates are dedicated to young audiences. There is no boulevard theatre here, the programming is a constant search to promote culture and artistic creation in the most varied forms. Young and old alike are invited to discover forms of entertainment that are sometimes classical, sometimes contemporary but always lively! France has 70 national stages accredited by the Ministry of Culture, including one in Dunkirk.
