THE SUGAR HALL
The Halle aux Sucres is a remarkable building housing the Centre de la Mémoire Urbaine d'Agglomération in Dunkirk.
At the beginning of the port on the east side is the Halle aux Sucres, an imposing building that was once a sugar storage facility. Rehabilitated in 2011, the Halle aux Sucres is now a living place for the city. The different spaces allow visitors to learn about new technologies, to understand the ecological and economic issues of tomorrow while having fun, through models, videos, testimonies, guessing games and books. The Centre de la Mémoire Urbaine d'Agglomération (Urban Memory Center) will allow you to learn more about Dunkerque's heritage.
