MONUMENT DES NATIONS
The Monument des Nations, a symbolic memorial to the Battle of Cambrai in 1917.
Inaugurated on November 24, 2007, the Monument des Nations is a memorial dedicated to the memory of all those who took part in the offensives of the Battle of Cambrai in November 1917. Organized with a strong symbolism, the paths represent the Union Jack - the British flag -, each leading to one of the high places of the battlefield. The rough concrete of the center represents the Hinderburg Line, which was pierced during the fighting. The site is decorated with roses, the remains of a former military cemetery. A powerful and moving memorial visit.
