LIGHTHOUSE OF PETIT-FORT-PHILIPPE
A 25.50-metre-high lighthouse built in the century at Gravelines, offering a breathtaking view of the banks of the River Aa.
After climbing the 116 steps, you can admire the breathtaking view of the banks of the Aa from the top of the Petit-Fort-Philippe lighthouse. Built in the 19th century, it measures 25.50 m. Originally white, it was repainted in black and white at the end of 1931 so that sailors could better spot it from a distance. The lighthouse is now extinct following the retirement of its last keeper in 1985 and has been replaced by beacons at the end of the pier.
