PARK ARBORETUM OF THE MANOR HOUSE TO THE WOLVES
Arboretum park with woods, pond, orchard, clearing, terrace, archery and tennis, good address for a break in Halluin.
Rest assured… if wolves are mentioned here, it is not because they skirmishes in the park, but simply because Halluin Mount was formerly called "Mount of Louvières"! In 1930, the owners of the land located there, which spread over 2 ha, commanded the Belgian architect Jules Buyssens to set up an English Park. In 1932, they will build a home with a Flemish farm appearance. This is the birth of the Manoir aux Loups! In 1950, the new owners expanded the park to 5 ha and asked the famous English Landscape Lily S. Cane to reshape the park. It then provided it with large grassy alleys, terraces and glacis. And it's precisely this vision game in alternating déclivités that makes the garden remarkable (label that it won in 2004!). Wood, pond, orchard, clearing, terrace, archerie and tennis are the different parts of the park. There are over 320 varieties of conifers coming from the 5 continents. This wide variety allows superb colour games over the seasons. A beautiful park nestled on the hillside and only a few kilometres from Lille. This is a beautiful idea of walking!
