CUSTOMS AND BORDER MUSEUM
Museum about the history of customs and borders in a reconstructed old post in Hestrud.
The village of Hestrud, the first French village after the border, had up to 14 families of customs officers. In an old reconstituted post, this museum evokes the history of the customs and, through it, that of a whole region. You can find several objects used by the customs officers: a device to control the thread, a cigar mold, uniforms and kepi. A small reminder for those who have forgotten the time of the physical borders between Belgium and France. There is also a café rando.
