"June does the flax" as the saying goes. It is indeed during this period that the small blue flowers bloom and transform the Flemish countryside into an ocean of vegetation. Flax is a traditional crop in Flanders, but it is also a flourishing economic sector that supports hundreds of families. For this new edition, the town of Hondschoote and a few surrounding municipalities are celebrating this plant by hosting the Lin'contourable Festival, organised by the tourist office of the community of municipalities of the Hauts-de-Flandre. This is how this plant with its blue flower will be put in the spotlight through various activities: exhibitions on the culture and the different uses of linen, shows, fashion and linen clothing shows, demonstrations, walks, country meals, discovery of liniculture, games, field visits... On Sundays, take part in the 35 km long cycle tourism rally, which starts in Hondschoote, with entertainment and refreshment points along the way. Lin'contourable Festival, two days to (re)discover the blue gold of Flanders!
