This forest offers visitors a true nature escape in the department.
Covering 9,135 hectares, the forest of Mormal is the largest forest massif of the North. It is a must for visitors looking for a real nature escape in the department. It is notably a reserve of incredible biodiversity: hundred-year-old oaks, beeches, ashes and hornbeams, to name but a few, line the paths of the forest, and the attentive visitor will perhaps be able to see foxes, wild boars, roe deer or even stags (the forest of Mormal is the only one to host a population of stags).
