A jewel of the military architecture, Mons's Fort was acquired by the commune in 1977, which transformed it into Folie House on the occasion of Lille 2004 European capital of culture. Located close to the urban district of the new Mons-en-Barœul, the Fort is a very important historic monument of more than 1 900 m 2 and is located in the heart of a 3 ha park. This former military monument now houses the municipal library, the conservatory, a multimedia space, a café-concert (the Hyphen), a game, an open theatre theatre (the Thalie garden), the Fort Hall, the dance studio, the exhibition room (which hosts ten exhibitions per year), as well as the restaurant of the Fort. a nice terrace. A beautiful decoration to make this historic place, a cultural and artistic space.
