LE CHÊNE DE TOMBEBOEUF
Over 350 years old, this oak is the most majestic tree in Lot-et-Garonne: a symbol of the department.
The small commune of Tombeboeuf is home to the oldest and most beautiful oak tree in Lot-et-Garonne, and indeed in France. At 350 years old, this magnificent tree is now attracting attention. The winner of the 2019 Terre Sauvage award, it measures 25 metres in height and 38 metres in spread, making it a remarkable natural feature. It is closely watched, as its trunk threatens to break, hence the installation of props to hold it in place. A natural wonder to be contemplated from the roadside.
