LE JARDIN DE TRAVERSE
Situated on a former meadow, the Traverse garden brings together nature and gardening enthusiasts. Together, these passionate and green amateurs cultivate a garden in biological mode: no pesticides, chemical herbicides or fertilizers are used, rainwater is recovered, and compost is made from organic waste from the site. With an orchard, vines, climbing plants, flowers, flowers, native but also exotic plants, hives, a small pond to promote the ecosystem and biodiversity, the garden is the refuge of the birds and auxiliary insects. The small green space has quickly become a haven of peace in Roubaix. A monthly meeting is organized to define among gardeners the work to be accomplished. Harvests are made in common on Wednesday morning and Saturday morning and redistributed to members. They serve as a priority for collective meals. Trocs of fruit plants and trees in discussions about beekeeping, pizza among friends in the garden: The association is a real community with values and communicative enthusiasm! The Traverse garden also welcomes the association for a sale of organic vegetables every Friday from 10 am to 14 pm.
