Restaurant offering a simple but very good cuisine located in the center of Roubaix.
For some, restaurant Le Peking could go for the kitsch temple. Indeed, the owners have not spared the decoration effects. At the entrance to the restaurant, in the small inner courtyard, it is a fountain-fountain with fake trees and fish (alive!) that welcomes you. In the restaurant room (a little dark), the tables are set up of red patches and, beside each one, a aquarium in which a red fish crashed. The walls and the large counter, for their part, are covered in all kinds. So yes, decoration is a little kitsch, but the Roubaisiens do not have to do, because if they keep coming back here, it's for the flavour and quality of dishes. Indeed, here the kitchen is simple but very good. By entering, the shrimp salad with crunchy soy shoots brings freshness and flavour. In flat, pork sweet sour sauce with rice or chop-suey vegetables delight the amatrices papillae of sweet salé. And in dessert, Chinese fruit salad makes it possible to finish the meal on a freshly exotic note. You will also find classics such as skipped noodles, painted duck, saké flambées or pinces pinces. And if you worry about not seeing many visitors in the room, be quickly reassured… the Roubaisiens often prefer to order to take! A small, unpretentious address, ideally located in the centre of Roubaix!
