SAN MARTIN CHURCH
Roubaix's oldest church, with remarkable Tournai stone recumbent statues and an altarpiece.
It's the oldest building in town! Built on the site of a Romanesque church, the current building dates back to the 15th century. Its three naves and unfinished front tower were remodeled by architect Charles Leroy. Between 1848 and 1859, he added two naves, rebuilt the choir and transformed the church into a neo-Gothic work of art! Since then, a series of restoration projects have enhanced the old building and its 19th-century additions. In 2009, Église Saint-Martin was also listed as a Monument Historique.
