Café-restaurant offering traditional and local cuisine and welcoming visitors, campers and hikers.
Created in 1950, the Café Français is an institution in Saint-Jans-Cappel. This small village located at the foot of Mont Noir welcomes visitors, campers and hikers, often starving for excursions on the region's trails. If your steps lead you to the French Café, you can then discover the regional terroir at the end of your range. The "mixed aperitif board" is a good idea to start the meal in a friendly atmosphere. Then, we (re) discover a traditional and local cuisine. Potjevleesch or Flemish carbonnade with goudale: all flavours are highlighted through typical and hearty dishes. You can also try a homemade tartar, veal escalope or beef steak. For those who would like to eat light, the Mont Noir salad, with its scallops, prawns, foie gras and smoked salmon, should meet their expectations. It is also possible to order moulds. However, there is a minor drawback regarding the service, which is easily overwhelmed in case of high traffic
