A departmental center of residence for European writers dedicated to welcoming authors in Saint-Jans-Cappel in all serenity.

The General Council of the Nord has installed the Villa Marguerite Yourcenar in the former family estate of the famous Belgian writer. Created in 1997, this place is today a departmental center of residence for European writers, whose goal is to welcome authors in all serenity. The general public is also admitted to this temple of writing, in order to discover their works. Meetings are regularly organized at the Villa or in other places.
