SECLIN CANAL
The Canal de Seclin was used to supply coal to the sugar mills and cotton mills, and has become a place for walking.
Located a few meters from the Notre-Dame de Seclin Hospital, the Seclin Canal connects the Deûle from Houplin-Ancoisne to Seclin. Created in 1856 by the Seclin Canal Company, it was once used to supply coal to sugar mills and cotton mills. Over the years and with the closure of factories, the canal was gradually abandoned. Today, the Seclin canal is home to 5 km of promenade and hundred-year-old trees, most of which are around 150 years old. At the end of the promenade, the Deûle, and, a little further on, the Mosaic Garden.
