ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH
Church made of brick and cement, designed in a Romanesque-Byzantine style and with a great originality in Steenwerck.
The present church dates from 1928 but the original building dates back to the 12th century. Based on an ancient Roman temple, the church is designed in a Romanesque-Byzantine style and has a major originality: its materials. The church is made of brick and cement. Its bell tower is oblong and white in colour and can be seen from over 10 km away. Inside, you can admire the 16th century baptismal font and the five stained glass windows depicting the life of St. John the Baptist.
