IMA TOURCOING
An institute with architecture typical of the period in which it was built, offering concerts, cinemas, conferences and more.
The Institut du Monde Arabe in Tourcoing is far from being just a decentralized branch of its Parisian counterpart. On November 17, 2016, the museum moved into the premises of Tourcoing's former swimming school. As soon as you enter the museum, you're struck by the architecture, typical of the building's period of construction. Only the first floor is currently open to visitors. Concerts, film screenings, lectures, workshops, Arabic classes...: the IMA has a real mission to educate and transmit, as well as being a fine exhibition venue. A must-see!
