Many villages in the Lot-et-Garonne have a market hall, but the one in the bastide of Villeréal is particularly remarkable.
The central hall of Villeréal is masterly. Very well preserved, it is a splendor! Its dimensions are imposing with a square of 30 meters on a side and its framework with oak beams that exceed 15 meters. A rare thing: the existence of a second floor. It was used by the high officials of the kingdom, then served as a town hall, bailiwick and jurade. Above the corners, there are houses whose half-timberings, genoises and corbels deserve all your attention. It houses the market and is used for summer animations.
