La Maison de la Confiserie in Wattignies is the place to go to find out all about the confectionery trade in the Nord region.
The heritage of the North is not only based on textiles: confectionery also has its place. After the closure in 2003 of the factory La Pie qui Chante, located in Wattignies for decades, employees and residents of the city opened this House of Confectionery in tribute to the profession of confectioner. Former employees provide visits and demonstrations such as the making of a berlingot of Wattignies. A must-see in the house: the 1956 Carambar machine!
