Le Moulin de la Briarde, a timeless, welcoming wooden mill for an unforgettable, poetic visit to Wormhout.
At the beginning of the 19th century, Wormhout had 11 mills. But the torments of centuries made them all disappear. All except one: the mill of the Briarde built in 1756 at the place called the Riecle. This wooden mill stands on a pivot and seems to taunt the years, even if its wings no longer turn the millstones, an engine doing the job just as well. Still today, and for more than twenty years, the Friends of the Mills have been restoring it and making it work during visits, to the delight of visitors who have come to discover this beautiful building, which is a listed historic monument!
