TO THE DISCOVERY OF WRECKS
About thirty wrecks still visible underwater in Zuydcoote, with guided tours once a month.
During the Battle of Dunkirk and Operation Dynamo in June 1940, the coastline of Maritime Flanders was bombed. Many ships were hit and sunk. About thirty wrecks are still visible underwater and some are lying on the sand. At low tide, they can be discovered, such as the Crested Eagle, a former steam liner that witnessed the horrors of Operation Dynamo. Remember to check the high tide calendar, as it offers the perfect opportunity to discover these marine graves.
