MEMORY RING
Elliptical ring on France's largest necropolis, featuring the names of some of the soldiers who fell in the war.
Built in 2014 for the 100th anniversary of the Great War, this Ring of Memory is the only existing monument in France to celebrate this centennial. This elliptical construction with a perimeter of 345m2 gathers the names of some 600,000 soldiers who fell on the 90 kilometers of the Nord-Pas-de-Calais front, during the First World War, without distinction of nationality or religion. An imposing work by the architect Philippe Prost, this ring is erected on the largest necropolis in France, a place of remembrance.
